2 Arrested After Person Shot In Face On Highway 1: Watsonville
The handgun was discharged after a fight, according to the California Highway Patrol's Santa Cruz County office.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A passenger was shot in the face Monday morning while driving along Highway 1 in Watsonville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Michael Stuckey, 48, of Port Orchard, Washington was arrested and taken to Watsonville Community Hospital, though CHP did not report that he suffered any injuries, the agency said in a news release.
His passenger, who was not named by CHP, was also arrested. The passenger suffered major injuries and was hospitalized at Natividad Medical Center.

Stuckey was driving south on Highway 1, north of Riverside Drive, around 8:15 a.m. Monday when he and his passenger got into a fight, CHP said. His Toyota Tacoma hit a guardrail and the passenger was shot in the face with a handgun, CHP said.
Drug impairment appears to be a factor in the incident, CHP said.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating to determine who fired the gun and what the motive was.
CHP continues to investigate the crash.
Highway 1 was closed for about four hours Monday after the incident.
