PG&E Contractors Continue Electrical Work on Freedom Blvd. Undergrounding Project

PG&E contractors have begun work on the electrical portion of the Freedom Blvd Undergrounding project, which is on Freedom Blvd between High and Broadis. This work will require some traffic control and interrupt electrical service within and adjacent to the project area. PG&E and the City have provided written notice to the residents and PG&E is to provide additional notification of the interruption to electrical service.

Schedule

Week of 6/2 - Remove electrical wiring from poles (removal of television and telephone wiring to be done by different contractors at a later date) and remove the part of the poles that do not have television and telephone wiring.

Week of 5/30 - Continue conversion of electric service to each home or business from overhead to underground. Repair private property damaged by installation of private services. Repair sidewalk and street where excavation has been done.

Week of 5/23 - Continue conversion of electric service to each home or business from overhead to underground. Install electrical transformers in underground vaults or overhead on utility poles. Replace the lid over the box at 1010 Freedom Blvd. Repair private property damaged by installation of private services. Repair sidewalk and street where excavation has been done.

Week of 5/16 - Continue conversion of electric service to each home or business from overhead to underground. Repair private property damaged by installation of private services. Repair sidewalk and street where excavation has been done.

Week of 5/9 – Repair sidewalk and roadway surfaces. Complete placing wire in service conduit to homes and businesses. Energize new underground primary electric cable. This week may involve

Week of 5/2 – Complete installation of new services on Freedom Boulevard. Complete installation of conduit in roadway and sidewalks at the corner of East High Street and Freedom Boulevard. Place wire in service conduit to homes and businesses. Install new pole at the corner of West High Street and Freedom Boulevard.

Week of 4/25 – Continue installation of new service conduit on Freedom Boulevard. Install conduit in roadway and sidewalks on Miles Lane and at the corner of East High Street and Freedom Boulevard. Place cable in conduit, boxes and vaults on Freedom Boulevard. Install new riser poles on Miles Lane, Stanford Street and East High Street.

Week of 4/18 – Install new service conduit to homes and businesses on Freedom Boulevard. Upgrade overhead wiring along West High Street and behind Gonzalez Street.
