Planning Commission Advances 75-Foot Cell Tower
The cell tower would sit at 1478 Freedom Blvd.
WATSONVILLE, CA — The Watsonville Planning Commission advanced a plan to pave the way for the construction of a 75-foot cell tower designed to look like a palm tree at 1478 Freedom Blvd. at its Tuesday night meeting.
AT&T Wireless, or Cingular Wireless PCS, is seeking to receive a permit to rent a 10-foot by 33-foot area to build the tower, designed to look like a pine tree, council records show. Cingular is seeking a permit to allow it to build a new unmanned telecommunications facility.
The tower would be built on the 1.7-acre Extra Space Storage site, which has been home to a warehouse since 1987.
