Watsonville Police Standby Amid Rumors Of Violent Protest
Watsonville Police said they've heard unverified rumors that a local shopping center may be targeted by violent protesters Thursday.
WATSONVILLE, CA — The Watsonville Police Department announced Thursday afternoon that there would be an increased law enforcement presence in the area amid rumors that violent protesters could target the Overlook Shopping Center later in the day.
Watsonville police and other law enforcement agencies planned to keep an eye on Overlook Shopping Center and others in the area, police said in a statement.
Police said they support peaceful protests but violence and destruction will not be tolerated.
