Prunedale Man Sought In Stabbing Of 19-Year-Old in Parking Lot: Police

BREAKING: Salinas officers suspect Finees Ruiz, 21, was involved in the Sunday night fight at the Ross Dress For Less lot.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA – Police are searching for a Prunedale man who they suspect of stabbing a teenager in a Salinas parking lot on Sunday night.

Finees Ruiz, 21, allegedly stabbed a 19-year-old man in a fight over Ruiz's ex-girlfriend, police said.

The fight took place in the victim's car outside of the Ross Dress for Less store at 1516 North Main St.

Ruiz allegedly stabbed the victim several times in the upper body before the victim fought Ruiz off.

Ruiz reportedly left before police arrived at around 9:30 p.m. The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Ruiz is Hispanic, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds with a thin build. He was wearing dark clothes at the time of the attack, police said. Officers recovered the knife at the scene.

The suspect's car was located in the area of Maple and Front streets, Salinas police said.
