Reconfiguration of Maple Street

City staff has been working at the intersection of Main and 2nd /Maple in preparation for the upcoming signal modification. The signal work is scheduled Tuesday, November 22nd - weather permitting. This work is the first phase of the Main Street improvements.

The intersection will be reconfigured to include a left turn pocket for turns from Maple Street onto Main Street. This change required removal of a few parking spaces on Maple Street. Minor striping adjustments will also be made on the 2nd St side. The traffic signal operation will change from the current split timing (with 2nd St traffic flowing first, then Maple St ) to more typical operation allowing both side streets to move together This change will optimize the traffic flow at this intersection.

Signs alerting motorists of changes will be in place and staff will carefully monitor the intersection. If you have any questions you can call 768-3140.
