Santa Cruz County Fair Runs Theme Contest

The submission that best sums up the spirit of the fair will receive free admission tickets, carnival wristbands, parking, and more.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Santa Cruz County has launched a contest asking for theme ideas for the 2022 edition of the Santa Cruz County Fair this fall.

The theme should reflect the spirit of the County Fair in as few words as possible, County Fair Manager David Kegebein said in a news release. The 2022 Fair, which will be held Sept. 14-18 at the Fairgrounds on Highway 152 just east of Watsonville, celebrates the agricultural heritage of the area.

The theme should be “based on the bounty of the area’s fields and ranches, the spirit of the county’s people, the optimism of youth, or a proverbial favorite: cute and cuddly animals.”
