Santa Cruz County Pitches In To Create 260 Reusable Medical Gowns
The gowns were made by Pajaro Valley crafters, with fabric donated by a Scotts Valley company and cut by a Santa Cruz company.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Santa Cruz County medical professionals and supporting staffers will be clothed in 260 reusable gowns, thanks to volunteers and donors across the county.
The gowns were delivered to the county Monday, thanks to 45 Pajaro Valley Quilt Association sewers who pitched in to stitch the gowns, made from fabric donated by 1440 Multiversity in Scotts Valley, the county said in a news release. The gowns were pre-cut by Community Printers in Santa Cruz, which repurposed a sign-cutting machine to cut the donated fabric.
The gowns will be distributed to medical offices through the county Emergency Operations Center. They will be used in lower-risk medical settings since limited medical gowns are currently available, the county said.
