Farm Bureau endorses Dutra for City Council
The Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau Board of Directors announced today that it endorsed Jimmy Dutra for Watsonville City Council, 4th District.
In making the announcement, President Cynthia Mathiesen stated, “Jimmy will bring fresh ideas on how to make the City of Watsonville a vibrant economic center.” Mathiesen continued, “Last year over 77% of the voters in Watsonville defeated Measure T which would have annexed prime farmland for commercial development. This vote provided the city council with an opportunity to bring people together to develop a clear economic vision. As a current Councilmember, Eduardo Montesino has done nothing with that opportunity. We need leaders on the council that understand their constituents and have leadership skills that can move the city forward.”
