School District Announces College, Career Weeks
It is never too early for students to think about their interests, strengths and passions.

From Pajaro Valley Unified School District: It is never too early for students to think about their interests, strengths and passions. As early as Kindergarten, we engage students in activities in the classroom that encourage them to uncover their curiosity and how they see themselves in the world. PVUSD continues to promote a college and career culture. We are delighted to announce that all of our schools at all grade levels will be engaging in promoting college and career during the weeks of October 22 and October 29.
“Today and tomorrow’s workplace inspire the District to prepare our students for a competitive global economy. College and Career weeks make it possible for students to become excited about attending
college and explore careers from an early age. In addition to student activities, on Monday, October 29,
the District will hold a College and Career Night where students and families can meet and interact with
over 70 college representatives. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about college life
and how they can best prepare while in high school to ensure they graduate college or career ready,” stated
Dr. Michelle Rodriguez, Superintendent of PVUSD.
Through the use of District Local Control and Accountability Funding, Watsonville High, Aptos High and
Pajaro Valley High now all have College and Career Centers. The College and Career Centers provide
information and support for students and their families about post-secondary options and requirements to
ensure they are ready upon graduation from high school.
