The Score: Christopher 7, Watsonville 1
The Star: Watsonville’s (2-6; 1-3 MBL) sophomore pitcher Crystal Guzman earned the top spot for the Wildcatz for her courageous act in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the score 7-0 and a runner on first with no one out, Guzman was hit by a line drive that hit her directly in the upper thigh. She stayed in the game after a brief rest and got the three outs she needed to end the inning.
The Turning Point: In the sixth inning, Watsonville took the zero off the scoreboard when junior second baseman Felicia Balli scored on a double that was hit by sophomore Rosie Gonzales.
