Victim In Industrial Accident Was Watsonville Man
He died Thursday in an incident at the Royal Oaks facility of Monterey Mushrooms, based in Watsonville.
WATSONVILLE, CA — The man who died Thursday in an industrial accident at the Royal Oaks Monterey Mushrooms facility has been identified as Jose Fierros, 62, of Watsonville, The San Jose Mercury News reported.
He was found in a hopper and died around 3:15 p.m. at the processing plant at 777 Maher Road, The Mercury News and KION reported.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and union United Farm Workers are conducting investigations, according to KION. The union represents some 100 workers there.

OSHA issued three 2018 citations for the facility, including a fatality and worker complaint of poor communication of safety procedures, KION reported.
