Watsonville Cops Grow Beards For Good Cause
The officers may grow their facial hair during the month of September but it is going to cost them.
WATSONVILLE, CA β Police officers in Watsonville are about to channel their inner Grizzly Adams during the month of September all in the name of charity. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month so for the next four weeks, if a cop donates $100, they will be able to grow a mustache, goatee, or beard.
The money collected will be given to Jacobβs Heart, a Watsonville-based nonprofit organization that helps children battling cancer.
Chief David Honda approved the temporary facial grooming policy and almost 30 officers are growing beards. The department will present a check to Jacobβs Heart on Sept. 23.
