WATSONVILLE, CA — City of Watsonville staff worked to raise thousands of dollars to feed Santa Cruz County, with the police department raising nearly $900 for Second Harvest Food bank, said police spokesperson Michelle Pulido.

Each department came up with their own fundraiser idea. Police collected donations for photos with Santa, reindeer and WPD vehicles. McDonald's, The Home Depot, Big Creek Lumber, Mid Valley Supply and Cal Giant pitched in to help with the fundraising effort, the department wrote in a Facebook post.

City offices were closed for the holidays and could not be reached for additional information about fundraisers and funds collected.
