Watsonville HS Students Master Agriculture, Horticulture Classes
A total of 86 certifications in these areas of study were handed out during the academic school year.
WATSONVILLE, CA — Watsonville High School students interested in agricultural and/or horticulture took steps toward their career goals by earning industry certifications, the Pajaro Valley Unified School District announced Friday. In total, 86 certifications were handed out during the academic school year, according to the district.
"Students worked hard to excel in the Agriculture Business and Horticulture Pathways and learned very valuable skills in the hands-on classes of Agriculture Business, Agriculture Communications, Floral Design and Horticulture," the district said in a released statement.
Out of the 86 earned certifications, Bayer Crop Plant Science Certification issued 29 and 11 were from Benz School of Floral Design Principles of Floral Design Certification, according to the district.

To earn the certification, each student passed a rigorous exam based on weighted industry-valued and industry-accepted standards, the district said.
