Watsonville Police Cadet, 17, Charged With Sexual Battery
The 17-year-old civilian was also charged with false imprisonment, police said.
WATSONVILLE, CA — A civilian Watsonville Police Department employee is facing charges related to sexual battery and false imprisonment of two teenage girls in 2017, police said.
He was a Watsonville Police Cadet Program member since 2018 and was hired last year as a Watsonville Police Activities League recreation leader, the Watsonville Police Department said in a statement.
Accusations were levied against the man in June, but police said they did not know who the victims could be. Police identified the first victim by June 19, after the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office shared a cross report.

A second victim was identified during the investigation, police said.
