Watsonville Probationer Arrested, Accused of Possessing Gun, Drugs, Police Say
Gang Task Force officials say they caught the 31-year-old man with cocaine, cash and a weapon.
WATSONVILLE, CA — A Watsonville probationer was arrested earlier this month after Gang Task Force Agents discovered a handgun and cocaine during a probation search of the man and his home, police officials said.
Officers first saw Fulgencio Avalos, a known probationer, in the 200 block of Green Meadow Road in Watsonville and detained him. Police said officers found a gram of cocaine and over $2,200.00 cash on Avalos and arrested him. During a search of his home, officers discovered a gun and drugs, according to police.
“In a dresser drawer of Avalos’ bedroom, GTF officers found bindles of cocaine, drug sales notes, scale, packaging material, and an unloaded .25 caliber handgun with the serial numbers removed,” police said via social media. “Officers learned that Avalos shared the room with a family member who is a juvenile. SCCACT officers seized 12.4 grams of cocaine packaged for sales as well as the firearm and the cash. The drugs and gun were easily accessible to the uninvolved juvenile.”
