Watsonville Traffic Stop Nets Arrest, Drugs, Pistol

WATSONVILLE, CA — A suspected gang member was arrested by Watsonville police Saturday evening and booked into county jail on suspicion of selling marijuana.
Pedro Rocha, 30, was arrested in the 100 block of Maple Ave. following a traffic stop for expired tags, according to the Watsonville Police Department.
During a search of his car, a Watsonville police sergeant found an unregistered semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, several jars containing marijuana and a digital scale, the WPD said.

Due to a prior conviction, Rocha was not legally permitted to possess a firearm, according to police.
Jail records show Rocha was released on $25,000 bond and is due in court Nov. 13.
