“For the past 10 years, New Leaf Community Markets, Smart Chicken, and the residents of our county have worked together with Second Harvest to make a dent in hunger. ... We’re so pleased to be working together again,” said Willy Elliott-McCrea, CEO, Second Harvest.
Smart Chicken is made from 100 percent all-natural, free-roaming, grain-fed chickens that are raised without animal byproducts, antibiotics, or hormones, store officials said. The poultry is processed using purified cold air instead of being chilled in non-potable communal water baths, which eliminates water absorption and cross contamination.
