1 Dead, 2 Wounded In Family Stabbing In West Hollywood

A suspect is in custody, deputies said.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – A man was in custody Monday for allegedly stabbing three members of his family, one fatally, in West Hollywood, authorities said.

The stabbing was reported at 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 8700 block of Shoreham Drive, Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the two women were taken to hospitals for treatment of their stab wounds, the sheriff's department reported. The fatally wounded man's name was withheld, pending family notification.

Authorities could not confirm a Fox11 report that the suspect, whose name was not immediately released, was the fatally wounded man's son.

A motive for the crime was not immediately known.
