This list of fun things to do in and around West Hollywood will keep you entertained

Labor Day was initially created to celebrate the working class, but for many people here in Weho, it’s simply another opportunity to have fun. Whether you want to relax and enjoy the weather on your day off or party on your last weekend of summer, here are some enjoyable activities to help you mark Labor Day.

1. The Taste

  • Where/When: This four-day culinary event starts Friday at 9 p.m. at the Studios at Paramount, 5555 Melrose Ave. The Taste celebrates the best of what Los Angeles restaurants have to offer.

  • Why Go: LogoTV’s "Best Gay Bar in the World" for two years running, heats up the last unofficial days of summer with a weekend of fun headlined by The White Party’s Tea Dance DJ, Moto Blanco, along with four days of music, hot bartenders and firefighter go-go dancers.

  • Why Go: Come to Whisky A Go-Go to listen to some great female rock artists, including Nikki Lorenzo, LA Scuffle, Jagged Row, Robot Ears, Halocene and Liz Wood.

  • Where/When: Sept. 3 at the Will & Ariel Durant Branch Library, 7140 W. Sunset Blvd.
  • Why Go: This non-profit organization, established by the Cohen family, aims to inspire young musicians and artists in the honor of their daughter, Liana Cohen. This free concert includes piano and vocal recitals played and performed by tweens, teens and adults.

  • Where/When: Sept. 4 at , 8852 W Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood.
  • Why Go: KROQ and Converse present a live show by some interesting rock, indie and alternative bands. Enjoy live music by Stateol, Noel Laune, who are having a CD release show, Of Verona Residency, Birds Of New York and Forest Filosophy for $15.

  • Where/When: Sept. 5 at , 8818 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood. 
  • Why Go: Def Leppard's Joe Elliott and Rick Savage will sign their book Def Leppard:The Definitive Visual History. Wristbands will be given out to the first 175 customers to arrive with their copy of the book. The event starts at 3 p.m.

  • Why Go: Comedian hosts from 10 p.m. until closing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays at the original Barney's Beanery in West Hollywood.
