Advocacy Training Project: How to Advocate for Legislation

Join NCJW/LA on April 3rd for the first of six advocacy training workshops. This is your toolkit for building a grassroots campaign! Learn about effective policy advocacy, the do's and don'ts of outreach to legislators, and how to make the most of relationships with California's elected officials.

How to Advocate for Legislation will be led by Sandra Fluke, Social Justice Attorney and Sara Mitchell, Public Affairs Specialist for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles.

The Advocacy Training Project includes all six workshops listed below:
Sunday, April 3: How to Advocate for Legislation
Sunday, May 22: Presenting Your Message
Sunday, June 5: Social Media for Advocacy
Sunday, July 31: Taking Charge of Media Relations
Sunday, August 28: How to Write an OpEd
Sunday, September 25: Getting Appointed to a Board or Commission

Attendees of all 6 workshops receive a certificate of program completion from the City of West Hollywood. There is no requirement to attend any amount of workshops to take part in the program. Participation is open to people of all genders and sexual orientations. All Sunday workshops include snacks and refreshments and will be held from 2-5pm.
