WeHo Sheriff's Deputies Arrested Man With Realistic Handgun Replica (canyon-news.com) β Sheriff's deputies in West Hollywood recently detained a masked man running toward pedestrians in an alley near North Stanley Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard and found he carried a realistic handgun replica, others' check stubs, and a credit card. He was arrested on suspicion of robbery and drug paraphernalia possession, and deputies are urging residents to stay alert, use wellβlit routes, and report suspicious activity.

2. 300-Page Letter Delays 8760 Shoreham Appeal Until November (wehotimes.com) β A key development fight over 8760 Shoreham Drive has been pushed back, with the appeal now set for the West Hollywood City Council meeting on November 2 instead of October 19. Both the developer and opponents requested the delay after a 300-page filing, so if you'd cleared your calendar for the earlier date, you'll need to watch for the renoticed November hearing instead.

3. 'Where's the Partnership?' Heilman Presses County as WeHo Spends Millions on Homelessness (wehoonline.com) β West Hollywood is spending about $6 million a year on homelessness services and just expanded a consultant contract to untangle cases of the city's most chronically unhoused residents. City leaders are pressing Los Angeles County for better coordination while refining when to escalate from outreach to mental health interventions or law enforcement, all as local unsheltered counts drop but visible individual cases remain stubbornly complex.

City of West Hollywood is Celebrating Launch of New Community Health Hub (wehotimes.com) β West Hollywood is launching a new Community Health Hub at West Hollywood Park, offering free 24/7 access to naloxone, test kits, safer sex supplies, and more via a public health vending machine. Residents are invited to a ribbon-cutting on October 19, where they can see how the hub works, meet program staff, and learn about additional city-funded human services and resources.

Hulk Owner Talks to WEHOonline, Tells Vandal 'Own Up and I'll Forgive You' (wehoonline.com) β A vandal recently dragged the giant Red Hulk statue away from The Lab Athletic Club on Sunset Boulevard, but West Hollywood security ambassadors managed to recover the damaged figure. Owner Rocco DiStefano says he'll repair and return the statue, and is willing to forgive the culprit if they come forward, apologize, and cover roughly $5,000 in damage rather than face charges.
