While walking through town , Raton out of a sudden realized how many empty store fronts there were available . Not one or two , but at least 10 or more , sometimes 4 or 5 in a row . How sad . He thought how great would it be to actually use these empty store fronts for something everyone would enjoy . Why not use them as stage to showcase local artists. A public ART installation that will reenergize the neighborhood?
Trendy stores come and go . They look great when occupied with a business or tenant , but awfully sad and ugly when empty and not taking care off.
Why not turn this transition from not rented to rented into a community ART project by choosing empty store fronts and create window installations that will enhance the overall look of the community and promote creativity .

WHERE? Well, it could be pretty much anywhere , but since Raton just stumbled over a bunch of empty stores in West Hollywood , why not start right here and there . Shopping areas not only in West Hollywood, but anywhere are NOT losing their cachet, they are simply in transition to become even more beautiful. Even though a lot of the stores are vacant, despite drastic rent reductions, it sometimes does look a little bleak around town , realizing that all the glamorous stores have either closed or moved and have left behind a rather "ugly" promenade of empty store fronts . So why not add some color to this transition ?

Everyone benefits from it . It provides an exciting new way to market vacant properties to potential tenants, it increases pedestrian traffic to surrounding business. it showcases vacant retail spaces in new ways, inspiring new users. It allows artists to showcase their work to exhibit their work, offers emerging artists the opportunity to exhibit their work and increases the presence of ART in the community
So watch out , maybe some ART will pop up in your neighborhood soon . Raton would love it .
