WeHo 7-Eleven Attack: Police ID Suspect

With the help of the community and detectives, authorities have identified the suspect who used an axe to injure a man in a WeHo 7-Eleven.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – Authorities Tuesday circulated the name and photo of a man wanted for allegedly attacking a victim with an ax during a dispute at a West Hollywood 7-Eleven over the weekend. The crime occurred about 4 a.m. Saturday in the 7900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.

"The suspect ... pulled out an ax and began to hit (the victim) in the head several times," according to a sheriff's statement. "After the assault, the suspect fled the location heading northbound on Hayworth Avenue and out of view. With the help of the community and through investigative efforts, West Hollywood detectives have identified the suspect (as) Kisu Bradey Brown."

The injured man, whose name was withheld, was taken to a hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

Brown, 41, is described as black, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the areas of Hollywood and West Hollywood.

"This suspect should be considered armed and dangerous," the sheriff's statement said. "If you believe you have seen the suspect, do not make contact."

People seeing Brown were urged to call 911 or the West Hollywood sheriff's station at (310) 855-8850.
