A Trip to The Viper Room with Tha Boogie Bonus
The Rancho Cucamonga-bred trio rocks out at The Viper Room and reminds concert-goers why the Sunset Strip venue's still got it.
Lately, I am becoming an avid concert junkie. The Viper Room has become one of my favorite venues for live shows and a great night out. Located on the notorious Sunset Strip, it's the type of venue you visit to hear great music, get a close view of your favorite artist, and to be surrounded by people who truly love music as much as you do.
The best thing about The Viper Room is that it cuts any pretentious behavior at the door. You can avoid people who hope to be in a gossip magazine prior to walking inside. Instead, you get people who want to enjoy music in its most raw and natural form. The spot has had its share of celebrities cross its doors including Jennifer Aniston, Sean Penn, ex-owner Johnny Depp, and most recently Prince.
Last week, a friend and I went to listen to our new favorite up-and-coming artist, Tha Boogie. While this wasn’t our first time to the venue, we did find ourselves excited to be back in one of Southern California’s most popular nightclubs.

While my friend and I were waiting for Tha Boogie to perform, we took a look around. Granted the stage might be small and the standing floor may only be twice the stage’s size, it does gives people the opportunity to squeeze to the front and be close to one another and the performers. Oddly, there is excitement in sliding through the crowd and making friends with someone who equally loves screaming the bands’ lyrics.
When our band finally hit the stage we found ourselves standing front and center taking pictures, recording video, and of course dancing along to Tha Boogie’s beat. They were dressed from head to toe in clothing that expressed their upbeat personality and sang their hearts out. Rocking the crowd with their songs “I’m Peter Parker” and “Running, Running”, Tha Boogie showed The Viper Room and everyone just who they were and why the belong on stage.

They were a great band and after their performance we got to meet them. They are the most down to earth artists you could ask for. They thanked their fans for supporting them and even took time to have random conversations if they know it would make their fans smile. We even got signature shirts to showcase the band around the city—we could not have asked for more.
Seeing such a great band perform and watching it all in an amazing nightclub is one of the many reasons why I love West Hollywood. Not everywhere do you get to be in such a great venue, in a prime location, and see a band you love all in one spot. On top of that, consider that this all occurred on a Wednesday night—imagine how it would have been should it have been a weekend.
If you haven’t already, The Viper Room is a place to go whether you’re new the area or just looking for a place to spend the night. The Viper Room should definitely be put on your Southern California bucket list and Tha Boogie should be added to your playlist.
