jackrabbit featuring Dermot Mulroney – a Heartfelt Country Connection – announced today that the band is hitting the road for The First Rodeo Tour. Kicking off at Los Angeles’s famed Troubadour on May 22,the five-piece band with a “Cali-Country” vibe stretches out to the east coast, stopping in Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Tennessee and elsewhere before wrapping up June 9 in Warrendale, Penn.
Influenced by both classic country and folk, jackrabbit is the Americana-tinged country band co-led by actor-musicians and brothers Dermot Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney. Cowriting and performing together, the brothers blend twangy guitars, layered harmonies and emotion-rich lyrical storytelling inspired by the Bakersfield sound, the Eagles and the soft-rock tradition of California’s Sunset Strip.
jackrabbit is not a mere side project for versatile actor Dermot Mulroney, who’s widely known for movies and series like Young Guns, My Best Friend’s Wedding, About Schmidt and Netflix’s The Hunting Wives. jackrabbit is the culmination of his and his multi-instrumentalist brother’s shared history and deep creative instincts forged in Alexandria, Virginia—which has a robust live music scene from jazz to rock n’ roll to folk and bluegrass—and where he grew up playing the cello.
