I'm an indie artist who reimagined 9 classic songs - with no label and no tour - my "Shadow Dancing"

I was hesitant to write this, but I need to get this out before I hit delete. Because I don't want to sound pompous or boastful, thank you for letting me share this here.

I'm Matell. For years I've been recording new interpretations of the songs I grew up on — Andy Gibb's "Shadow Dancing," Crystal Gayle's "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue," Bob Dylan's "Forever Young," Deniece Williams' "Silly," Bobby Womack, Ashford & Simpson, and more. Nine covers and one original (a collaboration with the late Aaron Carter) became my debut album, *Skull: Shadows*.

No tour. No major label. No industry machine. Just the music — and the listeners who found it anyway. The album debuted at #1 on Amazon Music's R&B/Soul chart, and the "Shadow Dancing" remix recently hit #36 on Apple Music's R&B/Soul daily chart in Norway.

My philosophy is simple: if the album hasn't been heard, it's always new. So, I'm still sharing it like it's release day.
