In honor of the 66th Anniversary of the Founding
of the State of Israel , Hollywood Temple Beth El, in conjunction with the Iranian
American Jewish Federation, will hold a special service, with guest speaker,
Elan Carr, and singing and dancing following services at 12 noon at Temple at
1317 N. Crescent Heights in West
Hollywood.
Mr. Carr,
a Deputy District Attorney for LA County, whose mother was born in Iraq, served
in the US armed forces in Iraq and lit the Hannukah lights in the palace of
former dictator, Saddam Hussein. Previous to that, he had served as a legal
advisor to the Justice Ministry of Israel in establishing a public defender’s
office. He will speak on the long-standing friendship between the US and
Israel.
