Crime In West Hollywood: August 21-27

The weekly police report from the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station has been released – did any of these crimes occur in your neighborhood?

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – The West Hollywood Sheriff's Station had a busy week last week, with multiple burglaries, thefts, and robberies. There were 11 burglaries, two accounts of theft, and one strong arm robbery throughout the week – one victim lost $60,000 worth of art and furniture. August 21st

  • Grand Theft
    • 8300 block Santa Monica Blvd, 7:30 pm.
    • A man placed 26 pieces of clothing into a bag he was carrying and left the store without payment.
    • Loss $980
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 500 block Norwich Drive, 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm.
    • An unknown suspect removed a watch, cash, and sunglasses from the center console. No sign of forced entry.
    • Loss $5600
August 22nd
  • Aggravated Assault - Knife
    • 8700 block Sherwood Drive, 7:30 am.
    • A man was walking WB on Sherwood Drive when he had a verbal argument with two male transients who were sitting outside of a vacant house. The victim walked by the location again a short time later and one of the men threw a tree saw at him.
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 7100 block Santa Monica Blvd, 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm.
    • An unknown suspect removed a computer bag containing a laptop computer and wallet from under the front passenger seat. No sign of forced entry.

August 23rd
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 1100 block Hacienda Place, 11:00 pm - 8:30 am.
    • An unknown suspect smashed the driver’s side corner window and ransacked the vehicle. No items were taken.
    • Loss $300 (window)
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 1200 block La Brea Avenue, 9:28 pm
    • An unknown suspect smashed the front and rear passenger’s side window and removed a leather bag containing a ring and cash from the front seat.
    • Loss $900

August 24th

  • Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested)
    • 1100 block N Fairfax Avenue, 9:47 pm.
    • A male transient removed money from the tip jar and attempted to leave the store. When confronted by an employee, the suspect shoved the victim and left the store. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect.
    • Loss $22 (recovered)
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 8400 block Clinton Avenue, 9:00 am - 6:30 pm.
    • An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer, headphones, and cash from the back seat.
    • Loss $2900
August 25th
  • Aggravated Assault - Knife
    • 1000 block N La Brea Avenue, 10:50 am
    • A man removed earphones from a shelf and attempted to leave the store without payment. When confronted by security, the suspect threw the earphones on the ground and left the location. The suspect came back into the store a few minutes later armed with a knife and confronted the victim inside of the store. The suspect threatened to kill the victim and walked towards him in an aggressive manner.
  • Grand Theft
    • 1100 block Larrabee Street, 12:18 pm.
    • A man removed several pieces of art and furniture from the residence after agreeing to sell the items for the victim. After taking the items, the victim has been unable to contact the suspect.

  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 1100 block N Genesee Avenue, 9:00 am - 10:40 am.
    • An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a bag containing a laptop computer from the back seat.
    • Loss $500
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 8500 block Santa Monica Blvd, 4:00 pm - 4:45 pm.
    • An unknown suspect removed a camera bag containing a camera, lens, and microphone from the back seat.
    • Loss $2250
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • Melrose Avenue / Norwich Avenue, 9:00 pm - 10:35 pm.
  • An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a leather bag containing hair styling equipment and makeup from the back seat.
  • Loss $4800
August 26th
  • Other Burglary (Attempt)
    • 600 block N Robertson Blvd, from 08/26 to 08/27
    • An unknown suspect broke the window and bent the metal window bars in an attempt to gain entry but was unsuccessful.
    • Loss $1K (window and metal bars)
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 7100 block Santa Monica Blvd, 10:41 am - 11:28 am.
    • An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a laptop computer from the rear floorboard.
    • Loss $2K
  • Vehicle Burglary
    • 600 block Croft Avenue, 4:30 pm - 10:00 pm.
    • An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and cracked the front passenger side window and ransacked the vehicle. At the time of the report, the victim was unsure if any items were taken.
    • Loss $800
August 27th
