D'Amico, Borelli Support Weho Term Limits
The Yes on Measure C campaign gets endorsements from a sitting Council member and a 2013 candidate.
Councilman John D'Amico and 2013 candidate Sam Borelli this week voiced their endorsement of a ballot initiative that seeks to establish West Hollywood City Council term limits.
D'Amico reiterated his support for Measure C to Wehoville in a website posting Monday. In September, Patch spotted D'Amico signing a petition to get the initiative on the March 5 ballot.
“I am not in favor of term limits as much as I am in favor of coalition building but some people are, and some of those folks are my friends,” D’Amico said.

“I still believe that the best route to change in local government is through coalition building and thoughtful, future-looking alternatives to the status quo,” the first-term councilman added.
On Tuesday candidate Borelli threw his support to the term limits movement.

"After nearly 10 years serving the community as a West Hollywood Public Safety commissioner, and now as a candidate for city council, I have seen and experienced a very closed system to keep even the most qualified candidate from threatening the ‘old-boys network,’” Borelli said in a statement.
Measure C seeks to limit council service to 12 years, or three four-year terms.
Local arms of the Democratic Party and incumbents up for re-election Jeffrey Prang and John Duran have come out against the ballot initiative.
