Making their Los Angeles debut, chanteuse Amanda King and crooner T. Oliver Reid have joined forces in a new show “An Intimate Affair: A man, a woman, and the American Songbook.” Ms. King and Mr. Reid were hailed as “exceptional rising [nightclub] talents” by Stephen Holden of the New York Times. This will be an evening of great songs in classic style.
Based in San Francisco, Amanda King is an effervescent performer known for singing (and swinging!) standards and lesser known gems of American popular music from the 30s and 40s. Her classic style, dynamic stage presence and scintillating vocals are compared to the singing greats of days past.
T. Oliver Reid is a New York-based Broadway dancer whose spectacular voice is content to be lost in the crowd no more. He won the Metropolitan Room’s 2010 MetroStar Challenge and was nominated for a 2011 Noel Coward Cabaret Award. Likened to the great Bobby Short, T. Oliver sings the best of the American songbook with style and class.
