Irina Dzhalalyant's journey as an artist began in her youth in the artist colony of Peredelkino, Russia where she first began experimenting with drawings and paintings. After moving to California in 1992, she delved into the world of sculpture where her talents have been recognized for their unique subject matter and material. Her upcoming exhibit Crazy for Sumo showcases her ironic sense of humor with playful bronze and acrylic sculptures whose contrasting emphasis on weight has been analyzed as holding a deeper understanding of the weight of the human soul. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 14th at 7:00PM and will serve complimentary cocktails and beverages. The exhibit will be on display for three weeks. Complimentary valet parking.
