Fairfax Players Earn All-City Hoops Honors

Several Fairfax High basketball players have been named to the All-City Section team, which was released Tuesday.

For the boys, Lions' junior point guard made the First Team and senior center made the Second Team. Guard Spencer Dinwiddie of Woodland Hills Taft was named Player of the Year.

Fairfax finished fourth in the Western League standings this season and lost to league rival Westchester in the quarterfinals of the City Division I playoffs. Joining Drew on the First Team were Palisades' Donovan Johnson, Westchester's Trevonne Williams and Joshua Wilson and University's David Nwaba.

Joining Carter on the Second Team from the Western League were Westchester's Robert Gsellman and Keywhon Powns.

For the girls, Lions' sophomore point guard made the First Team. Taylor Holeman of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies and Rashanda Gray of Carson shared Player of the Year honors. Other Western League players earning First Team honors were point guard Ea Shoushtari of LACES and point guard Ashlie Bruner of Palisades.  

Fairfax's junior forward and captain and sophomore power forward made the girls' Second Team. Also making the Second Tea from the Western League were Asia Smith and Nicole Flyer of Palisades. 

The Fairfax girls won the Western League and lost to eventual-champion Carson in the semifinals of the City Division I playoffs.
