George McKinney had been involved in an argument with another man on the afternoon of May 23, a Wednesday, and was found lying in the street. McKinney was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead the following day, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The man with whom McKinney argued is considered a person of interest in the case. He was last seen driving away from the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Hilldale Street, the sheriff's department reported.
