Friday's Scoop: Clown from Slipknot, Queer Asian Visibility and Dancing
M. Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown from the band Slipknot has a new book of photography. LGBT Asian artists talk about improving visibility, plus there's plenty of action on the dance floors at Weho's clubs.

M. Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown, is the percussionist and founding member of the Grammy Award winning hard rock band, Slipknot. Crahan is also an accomplished photographer. In his new book of photographs, The Apocalyptic Nightmare Journey, Crahan manipulates images in strange and provocative ways without the use of Photoshop. Crahan discusses and signs copies of his book at Book Soup starting at 7 p.m.

Find out what LGBT Asian artists from across the state are doing to get their work seen in a panel discussion, “Creating Queer Asian American Visibility Through the Arts.” Panelists include filmmaker Arthur Dong, performance artist/filmmaker Tina Takemoto, photographer Mia Nakano and multi-disciplinary artist Alison De La Cruz. The free talk starts at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber in West Hollywood Library.
