Friday's Scoop: Pothead Comics and Drag Queens, Plus Joan and Bette

Get high on laughs with pothead comics at the Comedy Store. Meanwhile Hamburger Mary's drag queens are obscenely funny and dueling Hollywood Divas are at the Macha Theater.

High-larious

Because it’s Friday and some people like to start their weekend by getting fried, the Comedy Store is hosting a special pot-themed show. Get high on the comedy of LA’s funniest pothead comedians including Cornelius Peters, Brandon West, Pinchi Peter, Julia Prescott and Munch. Showtime is 10 p.m.

Fridays are a Drag

Drag queens are nothing new at Hamburger Mary’s, but their Friday night drag show, “BULLSH*T” makes for a fun night of comedy, song and show-woman-ship. Detox, Lady Red Couture, Roxy Wood, Vicky Vox and many other will keep you entertained as they perform starting at 10 p.m.

Despite having starred together in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? film legends Bette Davis and Joan Crawford had a long standing, legendary feud dating back to the 1930s. Find out what that feud was all about as BITCHSLAP!, a comedic take on the pair’s rivalry plays through Sunday at the , 1107 Kings Road (at Santa Monica Boulevard). Shows are Friday-Saturday at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

  • Motion City Soundtrack with Henry Clay People and The Front Bottoms at the Troubadour. Show starts at 8 p.m.
  • Metalachi at Whisky a Go Go. Doors open at 8 p.m.
  • Jeff Cahill and Tommy Johnson at Roxy Theater. Doors open at 8 p.m.
  • Ab-Sol with DaKidDank, Yancy Deron and Mike Blaza at the Key Club. Doors open at 8:30 p.m., show at 9 p.m.
