Gross! Cockroach Infestation Shuts Down Hospital Cafeteria

The hospital has treated such illustrious people as Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson and President Ronald Reagan.


St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica has a big problem with a small pest--the cockroach.

A cockroach infestation has forced the closure of the cafeteria at St. John’s Health Center. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health red tagged the cafeteria Thursday. It’s being thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

If it passes inspection, the cafeteria will reopen Saturday.

In the meantime, hospital visitors are being given a list of nearby restaurants.

St. John’s has been around since 1942 and has treated its share of celebrities including President Ronald Reagan, Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor.
