Suspect Dean Edward Kent has three new charges tacked on to what he already faced in Los Angeles County, Novato police say.

A West Hollywood man wanted on seven misdemeanor drug charges was arrested Monday night in Novato in Northern California and now has several fresh charges being considered by the Marin County District Attorney’s office, police said Wednesday.
Dean Edward Kent, 59, was arrested at 7:50 p.m. by , Lt. John McCarthy said. Authorities in Los Angeles County were interested in finding Kent, who had faced two counts of driving with a suspended license, two counts of failing to appear in court after a written promise plus several other suspected misdemeanors and infractions.
An officer in Novato recognized Kent from a previous contact in the city and knew his license had been suspended, McCarthy said. Kent was questioned and allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamines and other drug paraphernalia.

McCarthy said it was unknown why Kent was in Novato and that “it sounds like he was living out of his van. The officer knew this guy’s license was suspended, and sure enough he had all those warrants out for his arrest.”
Only one of Kent’s 15 potential charges is a felony—the fresh one from Novato police pertaining to suspected possession of a controlled substance. Bails for Kent’s various counts added up to $114,424, according to the jail booking log. He remains in Marin County Jail.
