Murdered Model's Blood Drained, Face Ripped Off: Autopsy
She was found dead in her West Hollywood home with human bite marks on her jaw, according to reports.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – An autopsy revealed Wednesday that a model, who police say was tortured and killed by her graphic novelist boyfriend, was scalped, had portions of her face torn off and had been drained of all of her blood, according to New York Post. Iana Kasian, 30, was found dead in a West Hollywood apartment in May 2016 after her mother reported her missing, according to Sheriff's Deputy Mike Barraza.
Her 35-year-old boyfriend, Blake Leibel, was detained before she was found unresponsive in a bedroom, Barraza said. Kasian appeared to have suffered blunt- force trauma to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The couple had a young child who was not present at the time of the killing, Barraza said.
Leibel was arrested six days before this homicide for an unnamed felony. He posted $100,000 bail and was released, according to L.A. County jail records. Leibel pleaded not guilty after he was charged with murder and could face the death penalty if convicted, according to the New York Post.

One of his novels, "Syndrome," opens with flashbacks of a serial killer slitting throats and draining blood, the New York Daily News reported. The report shows there was also an injury to Kasian’s jaw that appeared to be human bite marks, ABC13 reported. Leibel also worked as a writer and director, according to multiple reports.
