Nordstrom Opening Store With No Inventory In West Hollywood
New Nordstrom Local customers will shop in a store with no inventory, a personal stylist and a beer & wine bar.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – Nordstrom is opening up a concept store with no inventory in West Hollywood next month called "Nordstrom Local," according to a Nordstrom press release. The luxury department store says the new item-less shops will be staffed with personal stylists who can order merchandise for customers. Patrons can also buy online inside the store, or pick up online orders the same day.
The West Hollywood location will open October 3, but will only be 3,000 square feet – a typical Nordstrom is 140,000 square feet. Nordstrom Local will have eight dressing rooms for shoppers to try on clothes, but there won't be inventory to purchase them – clothes for purchase will come from the bigger Nordstrom box stores and from its website.
"Shopping today may not always mean going to a store and looking at a vast amount of inventory," Shea Jensen, Nordstrom's senior vice president of customer experience, said in a statement. "It can mean trusting an expert to pick out a selection of items."
