Outfest Shows Its Stories
The group offers a preview of its LA Gay & Lesbian Film Festival at the Sofitel's Stone Rose Lounge on Wednesday.
Outfest, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing LGBT media, celebrated its upcoming 29th LA Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, themed "See Your Stories," at the Sofitel's Stone Rose Lounge on Wednesday night.
Outfest Executive Director Kirsten Schaffer welcomed guests to the launch party. Film buffs and filmmakers alike were excited by the lineup, featuring some of the biggest talent gracing the screens at Outfest this year.
The oldest film festival in the city of Los Angeles, set for July 7-17, will feature 163 films (67 features and 96 shorts) from 25 countries, as well as more than a dozen panels and special events at seven venues across Los Angeles, including West Hollywood, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Downtown LA.

The notable lineup of actors starring in this year’s movies include Kathleen Turner, Jason Ritter, Emily Deschanel and Richard Chamberlain in the festival's closing night feature, The Perfect Family; Dolly Parton in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and John Lavin's Hollywood to Dollywood; and Margaret Cho in Cho Dependent.
