Reward Offered for Attackers in Random West Hollywood Beating

The city is offering a $10,000 reward for help finding and convicting four men who beat another man, traumatically damaging his brain.

A $10,000 reward was offered today for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever assaulted a man in West Hollywood who was left with a traumatic brain injury.

Kirk Doffing was attacked as he walked on May 24 between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. on San Vicente Boulevard near an alley just north of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Doffing was assaulted following a verbal altercation with four Latino men in their 20s, all of whom were wearing black or dark clothing, the sheriff’s department reported.

Doffing, who lives on San Vicente Boulevard, was in a medically induced coma at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the sheriff’s department reported on June 3.

Detectives said at the time they believe Doffing was targeted at random.

The reward was offered by the city of West Hollywood.

Anyone with information on the assault was asked to call (310) 855-8850. Anonymous tips can be provided by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
