Greeting and welcome to City Scoop. Today is Sunday, June 17, the 169th day of 2012. Here’s what’s going on in West Hollywood today.
America honors fathers on this day each year, so it’s only natural that the Pop Luck Club, the gay fathers group that started in LA in 1998 and has blossomed into the largest such group in the world, would also observe the day. The Pop Luckers have a special Father’s Day brunch gathering for gay fathers and their children at The Abbey starting at 10 a.m.

It may not have all the drama of the 1990s campy nighttime soap opera of the same name, but the Melrose Place Farmers’ Market does have lots of fresh produce for sale. Open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the certified market is a popular destination for locals. Before a farmer can sell at a certified market, the government checks to make sure the farmer actually grows the produce he sells at the market rather than buying it from another seller and reselling it. The market is located on Melrose Place (just off Melrose Avenue) between Orlando Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard.
The women’s chorus Vox Femina has a special concert highlighting its 15 years of singing songs that “affirm the worth and dignity of every person.” Legendary lesbian feminist singer-songwriter Cris Williamson joins them for the show that also sees several former Vox Femina members returning for a few songs. Showtime is 3 p.m. at , 1200 N. La Brea Avenue.
