Sunset Strip Market Debuts Thursday Night
New weekly market will feature local produce vendors and artisan goods, live music and cooking demonstrations by chefs from local restaurants.

The new Sunset Strip Market, set to debut on Thursday night, will be a hybrid of sorts – part farmers’ market, part entertainment, part educational.
Featuring local produce vendors and artisan goods, live music and cooking demonstrations, the goal of the Sunset Strip Market is to allow residents the chance to shop at the market after work hours and at the same time highlight the Sunset Strip’s reputation as a nightlife destination.
The market will be held Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 8755 Sunset Boulevard, in the former Tower Records parking lot, just east of Horn Avenue

“The new Sunset Strip Market is not your typical farmers' market,” said Mayor Jeff Prang in a press statement. “This market will give residents and others in the area an opportunity to gather on the world famous Sunset Strip while having fun, learning and supporting local farmers. The Sunset Strip Business Improvement District has come up with a concept that proves once again that West Hollywood truly is the Creative City.”
“This Farmers' Market will capture and build on the vibrancy of the Sunset Strip, bringing a fresh energy and a creative spin on the local farmer’s market,” said Mayor Pro Tem Abbe Land. “I am truly looking forward to this market bringing even more focus on sustainability, locally-grown food and some of the fantastic restaurants on the Sunset Strip.”

Certified Market
The market is a certified farmers’ market meaning that the state has verified that the produce the each farmer sells is actually grown by that farmer rather than bought from another vendor and then resold. Twenty different farmers are signed up to participate, many of them selling organic produce.
There will also be 16 local artisan vendors selling everything from breads, pies and pastries to jams, soups and prepared meals. A “pairing pavilion” will give shoppers the chance to pair their meal with one of the organic, sustainable wines sold at the Market.
To encourage people to go to the Sunset Strip shops, clubs and restaurants afterward, the market will have a “Veggie Valet” allowing shoppers to leave their purchases at the valet and pick them up at the end of the evening.
Each week the market will feature a special farm-to-table menu crafted by a local chef who will create a menu using produce and meat sourced directly from the Sunset Strip Market’s farmers. This idea behind that is to highlight the farm fresh ingredients while also allowing chefs to showcase their talents in a casual, outdoor setting.
Thursday’s opening night chef will be the Eveleigh’s executive chef Jordan Toft. Upcoming weeks will be hosted by RH executive chef Jorge Chicas, Mirabelle executive chef Michael Bryant and BLT Steak LA executive chef Robert Liberato.
An entertainment stage hosted by a different business on the Strip each week. The Standard Hotel will host the opening night’s music as part of their Desert Nights showcase. Curated by KCRW’s DJ Valida, artists performing on Thursday include Dawn Mitschele, Phantom Tortoise (a new project by artists Justine Bennett and B Willing James) and Sotto.
Parking for the Sunset Strip Market will be available at several lots for $5 with validation at the Market. For more information about the Sunset Strip Market, please go to www.sunsetstripmarket.com or call (310) 659-7368.
