Raton made another interesting observation. It seemed that there were more and more Dog Hotels in town. From luxury overnight stays to by the hour hang outs . Grooming , petting, walking , training services . It must be dog heaven to be living in Los Angeles , which raises the question do dogs get greater sympathy then humans? Hardly , but it seems that puppies and adult dogs are getting better treatment than a 30-year-old-human mainly because they are perceived as innocent and helpless. Full-grown adults are more likely to be seen as capable of taking care of themselves . Puppies and adult dogs are not , which does make sense, yet one can not help to wonder why is that we seem to care more about our four legged friends? Perhaps the answer lies in the way we interact with one another ? Humans are , sadly, often relatively distant if not anonymous in our daily lives, making it hard to identify personally with them . We can rely more to our fuzzy , face licking friends , as they approach is more honest and loving . Are we desensitized when it comes to caring for humans? Since we have our hands full caring about ourselves and the few close to us , maybe it is easier to warm up to animals , dogs in particular and it brings us more immediate satisfaction? It would be nice if we could feel the same about humans then we do for our loyal four legged friends . Perhaps the more humans we reach out to , the more we can get used to trusting each other again . Now grab your leash my little little pooch , Raton is going to drop you off at the club for a fun filled afternoon with like minded doggies , while he will be at the office spending half of his precious time trying to figure who is out there to get him . Woof , that for sure is something to bark about .
