Trump's Walk Of Fame Star Gets Fresh Paint Job
Photos posted across social media Monday showed the star had been painted black to match the terrazzo pavement beneath.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — President Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star has once again become the object of vandalism, this time amid Black Lives Matter protests across Los Angeles.
In a variety of social media posts, protesters are shown writing on the star, adorning it with lewd stickers, placing an apparent bag of dog excrement on it and spray-painting it black to match the terrazzo pavement underneath.
In one series of photos chronicling the vandalism, the bag of dog waste appears to have been smeared across the star. These images contain swear words and lewd imagery.

But this week's vandalism isn't the first time the star has been defaced, painted or outright destroyed.
In 2016, a man was arrested and charged with vandalism after taking a sledgehammer to the star. Two years later, another was arrested after demolishing the star with a pickax. As recently as December 2019, a street artist displayed model of a golden toilet near the star. The toilet's lid was emblazoned with the presidential seal.

In 2018, West Hollywood's City Council voted unanimously in favor of a resolution asking the Los Angeles City Council and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the star, The Hill reports.
The council's resolution read, in part, "In addition to his mistreatment of women, other actions of Mr. Trump and his administration have not met the shared values of the City of West Hollywood, the region, state and country ..."
Hollywood's Chamber of Commerce has maintained the star won't be removed, as the Walk of Fame is a historical landmark, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The star has indeed been replaced or repaired each time it's been vandalized or destroyed.
It's unclear if or when the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will clean and restore the star this time. A chamber spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
