Weeds and Saturday Night Live alum Kevin Nealon hosts an unpredictable night of comedy at the . “The Kevin Nealon Show” sees the funny man bring an array of comics on stage to engage him in a battle of the laughs. The results leave the audience cackling in its spontaneousness and ingenuity. Nealon and his assorted comic friends take the stage at 8 p.m.

Architecture Talks

The is the place to be for the opening reception for the new exhibition “Out Spoken: Lectures from the Southern California Institute of Architecture Media Archive.” The exhibit previews a four-decade archive of talks, presentations, events and symposia from architects and scholars from the SCI-Arc Media Archive which is scheduled to go online in fall 2012. The opening reception runs 6-9 p.m.

Doggie Sequel

Buddy is back. Direct from a stint atop the New York Times bestseller list for A Dog’s Purpose, Buddy the dog is back in A Dog’s Journey. This time, Buddy is accidentally separated from his new teenage master and struggles to get home to take care of her. The book’s author, W. Bruce Cameron, tells all about Buddy as he discusses and signs copies of his book at , starting at 7 p.m. 

Meditation Workshop

Jeff Cannon, author of The Simple Truth: Meditation for the Modern World and founder of The Simple Truth Foundation, conducts a meditation workshop, offering tips on reducing stress and minimizing distractions that undermine grown, plus achieving balance and happiness in life. Cannon’s workshop runs 7:30-9:00 p.m. at . $20 in advance, $25 at door.
