Tuesday's Scoop: Holiday Walk, Campaign Kickoff and HIV Awareness

AIDS Project LA has a new location in Weho, and we tell you where.

HIV Awareness: Stop by the  tonight at 7 as the AIDS Healthcare Foundation's Public Health Division holds a private screening and reception to mark the launch of the group's HIV awareness video series, This is Me, Raw. The series of short films features men's candid, personal stories about their encounters with HIV. 

Holiday Walk: West Hollywood will host the  along Melrose Avenue on Friday and Saturday. You can expect carolers, food trucks and special deals from businesses. The food truck The Machine has announced that it will set up shop on Friday 5-11 p.m. on Melrose and Huntley. The Border Grill food truck will be set up in front of  on Friday night as well. New Owners: The  West Hollywood boutique hotel has new owners, according to Luxist.com. The LaSalle Hotel Properties reportedly paid $38.5 million for the 113-room, all-suite hotel. Read the entire report at Luxist.com

AIDS Project LA in Weho: AIDS Project Los Angeles has announced it has launched services at its newest site in the city of West Hollywood. It already offers services to residents, but it has a physical space in the city now. The 1,000 square-foot location is in the Sierra Bonita Apartments at 7530 Santa Monica Boulevard. APLA will offer on-location mental health services, weekly support groups and assistance with enrollment in HIV/AIDS medical programs. to learn more about APLA and the services it provides. 

Gay & Leadership Institute: During Monday's council meeting, Councilman , Mayor Pro Tem  and Mayor  announced that had they attended the Gay & Leadership Institute over the weekend. The institute works to achieve full equality for LGBT people by "building, supporting and advancing a diverse network of LGBT public leaders." The weekend conference was held in Washington, D.C.

Campaign Kickoff: Resident Scott Schmidt, who is running for West Hollywood City Council in 2011, has announced that he will be having a campaign kickoff on Dec. 21 at from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Guests are asked to RSVP online. To learn more about Schmidt visit his campaign website
