The Unbreakable Spirit of Jordan

It was a hot Southern California afternoon when Hope for Paws, a Los Angeles-based animal rescue, received an emergency call about a small dog abandoned in the LA River basin.

He had been the victim of terrible abuse—a witness reported that a man had thrown the puppy over the embankment, leaving him to die after falling 30 feet down into the canal.

When they arrived on the scene, Hope for Paws found the terrified little puppy sitting on a plastic bag, surrounded by puddles of dirty water. He was in terrible pain, and so weak that he could barely cry above a whimper.

Hope for Paws rescued the brave little guy, and after giving him the medical care he desperately needed, provided him with love, encouragement and a second chance at life. They also gave him a name: Jordan.
